"Le Drap d'Or" (literally meaning "golden sheets", and also a local apple that can be found in our orchard) is the name of a charming little cottage at the end of a very old farm house that we renovated in 2015. We tried to keep its authenticity whilst renovating it with all modern comforts. A real haven of peace along with the bird song, our home is a tranquil place to rest only a few minutes drive from all facilities in the towns of Guémené-Penfao or Le Grand Fougeray.
Come and stay in our 3 acre LPO (bird protection) refuge to listen to the oriole, frogs in the pond in the spring, tawny owl at night and tree frogs in the brambles. Limewashed with natural pigments which change colour with the weather, the cottage is very well insulated. Stay warm with the 2 electric heaters and the geothermic hot water. This eco-friendly housing is also gay-friendly of course and we can provide all you may need for a baby up to 2 years old: bed, highchair, changing pad, stroller. There is a parking for cars outside and an inside parking for bikes or motorbikes.
From the north/west facing terrace with table and chairs you will have a view over the orchard, the wood, as well as a « window » on the countryside and the sunset.
We have Shropshire sheeps, chickens for fresh eggs (without a rooster for the quietness!), bees at the other side of the property, a cat and a dog that will leave you alone but who will also follow you for a walk if you wish. For short stays we can provide an Organic Breakfast platter with a mix of local and homemade products. There are also aromatic plants on the terrace and we can share our fresh products from our vegetable garden and orchard. We have 2 electric bicycles that you can borrow for a lovely ride in the countryside.
Fully equipped kitchen: induction fire, hod, dish-washer, hoven/microwave combo, fridge/freezer combo, coffee maker, water-boiler and toaster. All ustensils, dishes, cuttlery and basic condiments.
